colourQ challenge #26...

So we've arrived! Week number 26... half a year! Is that CRAZY or what? Has anyone played along every week so far? I'll have to check on that... Today's inspiration comes from a cutie-patootie pair of booties found over at funkyshapes on Etsy. Maisie is too little for me to start spending $25 on booties for her... but they're still darling!!!

Not only do you have my take on the colors today, but also those of the inaugural colourQ Royal Court Design Team! You'll find their beautiful photos to the right, as well as links to their oh-so-awesome blogs! I was very anxious asking these talented ladies to join me each week - I mean, what if they said no?!? Luckily that didn't happen, so please go visit them & show them some love... not only are they super talented, they are also some of the nicest folks you'll find on the web & they've been so supportive of these challenges over the last 6 months! Yes - this is week 25!!! Almost half a year of challenges... how crazy is that? Next week WILL be half a year, so I'll be celebrating in a BIG way. Lots of new things will be happening here at the colourQ next week, so you DON'T want to miss it! Today's inspiration resulted from my 'googling' egg dyeing. Sorry I can't remember where I found it!

colourQ challenge #24 ~ Winners Crowned...

Good morning!!! Everyone did a fabulous job with last week's colors... I wasn't sure how you gals would feel about them, but the entries were amazing! Even though I consider everyone a 'winner' ('cause you know you are...) I did manage to narrow it down to 2 cards that caught my eye - and they are on the opposite end of the spectrum! One of these gorgeous cards was elaborate, while the other was beautifully simple. A big congratualtions to both of this week's colourQueens,

Well, for those of you who thought last week's colors were difficult, you probably want to smack me for this week's challenge... *note the word challenge*. When I saw this cool Bric-a-Brac bracelet at Sundance, not only did I love the colors, they just screamed EASTER to me... so feel free to make an Easter card, I did!

I love that doily paper over the orange that Linda used... so awesome (where can I get some?) and that flower - I need to try making one of those, it's gorgeous! I thought Andrea's card was really simple, yet cool - I loved how she broke the image up into 3 panes... and I swear that bow is picture perfect! Kari's card struck my fancy, too, because I really liked how she embossed the base of the card! Both ladies used the colors like a pro, no... like a colourQueen! Today's super cute inspiration comes from The Land of Nod... I just love the gorgeous colors of this crib set! I want a bigger version of it for my bed!!! We had a lot of amazing entries last week, & since I'm still working on the winners post announcement, I'll be posting that later today... but I didn't want it to hold up this week's challenge!

I needed a guy birthday card, so here's my one of my takes on this week's colors... pretty simple little card! I think I'll use these colors again on something a little more elaborate...

We had so many beautiful entries for this challenge! Sorry It's taken so long to announce the winners... and unfirtunately it will be a little longer for me to post the thumnails! Not only am I going back to work on Friday (bye bye maternity leave - it was fun!) but Jeff had surgery on his wrist & I've had 3 people to take care of - lol! NOt enought time for anything else, I'm afraid!
